What brought you to your current country?

My husband got a transfer from Seattle

What advice would you give other women who move for their husband's career?

So a quick fact here is that, my husband accepted a role in his company's Luxembourg office because from a long term visa perspective, Europe would work better for the both of us (and especially for me). So he essentially moved for me :)

As for advice, I'd just say that please choose an option that works equally well for the both of you in terms of several things right from your visa statuses, opportunities, weather, culture etc.

What do you find most challenging about living in another country?

For me personally, since I am not an EU citizen, it was difficult finding work. It took me almost a year, however now, I have a great position as a social media specialist now and it was worth the wait :)

What advice would you give other EXPATS trying to find work?

Sindhu-Satish-PARIS

I would tell them to be patient, and have faith that they will get something they really like. The key is just persistence. All the women I know who have found work despite not being EU citizens just have one thing in common. Persistence, and a lot of it! During that period, I used it to my advantage and started to freelance as a life coach and also created my own course. This helped me use my time productively, and meet interesting people.

What is your favorite part about living in Luxembourg?

The country's natural beauty, clean air, and diversity! Also the location enables us to travel to different countries easily.

Least Favorite?

Salons and most supermarkets are shut on Sundays, but one is open so we manage ;)

Where would you like to live next?

I think we'd like to continue living in Luxembourg, but we are visiting Macedonia in December :)

WHERE ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE PLACES THAT YOU’VE DISCOVERED ON YOUR TRAVELS?

Sindhu-Satish-Marrakech

Two of my favorite places in the world to visit have been Greece and Morocco. I haven't had my fill yet in each of these two countries, and I'd love to go back. I love Greece because of its natural beauty, stunning beaches and warm people. Morocco is unique and absolutely enchanting. It consists of beautiful palaces and is very rich culturally.

What fuels your wanderlust? What inspires you?

I think the thrill that I get by visiting new countries, experiencing new cultures, and meeting people from diverse nations fuels it :)

What advice would you give to other expats or travelers?

I'd say, always say yes to a new opportunity. It could be the best decision of your life! Like with me, I hardly knew too much about Luxembourg but two things excited me. 1 : I could legally work in Luxembourg 2. I could live in Europe and have the experience of living in a country that I have never been to before, and I think it has been one of the best decisions of my life :)
